A Small Wedding at Yorktown Beach | Virginia Wedding Photographer

I’ve lost count how many times I have heard the story of Brides wanting the big and glamorous wedding. And I hear so many more times Brides who wish they could just have that BIG and fancy wedding. But if you were to sit those Brides down and ask them what meant the most to them during their wedding day… I can assure you they would all agree with these few things, “I married the one I love, my family and close friends were there, and I got some beautiful images.”

I say this… And share this wedding because these things hold true. No matter how big or how small. As long as you are happy with your day, the one you married, and have those things you know you will cherish their on your wedding day… Then everything else melts away.

You see this was my Brother’s wedding. Roland and his beautiful and sweet Bride Kristin asked for their family and close friends to join them at Yorktown Beach to help celebrate their love for one another. To them this day was more important then every little detail, fancy dress, big reception, or the things we Brides can worry so much about. But instead they chose to share in their day with those they love. They chose to celebrate their wedding day with us all while having a family dinner at ‘Park Lane Tavern’… And for them that is all that mattered. That their loved was the center of it all and everything else fell in to place.

So for all those Brides who fear not having the big and fancy wedding… Remember that your love, your story, and those you cherish are by your side. And at the end of the day everything else is just an extra style, beauty, look, venue, moments added to your story.

Even the most sweet and simple wedding can hold the most powerful story with it. For example Roland & Kristin and their Yorktown Beach wedding. ❤
